Students gain access to hundreds of thousands of jobs and internships with new Handshake partnership

Quinnipiac has launched a new partnership with Handshake, an innovative digital platform designed to connect college students with jobs and internships.

“Handshake has a tremendous employer base and is the college-recruiting platform of choice for larger employers,” said Dave Bouton, assistant director of career development in the School of Business. “There are more than 850,000 employers using the platform, and nearly all of the Fortune 500 companies use the tool for recruiting. As such, it greatly increases the quality and quantity of opportunities our students are exposed to via a Quinnipiac platform.”

Handshake uses strong matching algorithms to align jobs, internships and opportunities to the interests and fields given in a student’s profile, so it does a good job tailoring relevant opportunities to the student’s accounts, Bouton added. The tool takes much of the guessing out of the search process.

“This summer I had a great experience as an intern for People Are Culture. Utilizing Handshake allowed me to find this opportunity and gain experience in the advertising field. I had the opportunity to work one-on-one with the company’s founder. Her knowledge and insight was invaluable.”
