With an abundance of career-focused information and resources, the career advisers at Quinnipiac are here to support students as they expand their professional networks and attract the attention of prestigious employers. Our career advisers will assist students in leveraging Handshake's comprehensive suite of features as they explore new career paths and discover amazing internships and job opportunities.
With 1.5M jobs and internships posted in every industry over the past year, there are opportunities for every path. When you fill out your profile, you'll be shown a curated list of jobs and internships that match your interests and skills. You can then filter and search through job roles and discover new career possibilities.
Many top employers — including all the Fortune 500 — recruit on Handshake, giving Quinnipiac students access to many jobs and internships that aren’t available anywhere else. Recruiters frequently interact with students and graduates to share new postings, interview requests and information about upcoming events.
Employers are actively searching for students. In fact, 80% of students who share their interests receive a message from a recruiter on Handshake.
Through Handshake, you'll see jobs and internships designed specifically for students at Quinnipiac. You’ll gain access to invite-only events on campus and online including career fairs, resume workshops, information sessions and panel discussions with employers. You'll also make direct connections with employers and even set up informal 15-minute one-on-one conversations with recruiters.
Quinnipiac has launched a new partnership with Handshake, an innovative digital platform designed to connect college students with jobs and internships.
“Handshake has a tremendous employer base and is the college-recruiting platform of choice for larger employers,” said Dave Bouton, assistant director of career development in the School of Business. “There are more than 850,000 employers using the platform, and nearly all of the Fortune 500 companies use the tool for recruiting. As such, it greatly increases the quality and quantity of opportunities our students are exposed to via a Quinnipiac platform.”
Handshake uses strong matching algorithms to align jobs, internships and opportunities to the interests and fields given in a student’s profile, so it does a good job tailoring relevant opportunities to the student’s accounts, Bouton added. The tool takes much of the guessing out of the search process.
Bobcat Connect is a private online network designed specifically for Quinnipiac students and alumni that facilitates connections for networking and career support. It's an easy-to-use platform with a dedicated community of over 4,000 Quinnipiac volunteers who join for the sole reason of supporting fellow Bobcats.
You can match with other members based on similar career fields, geographic locations or interests, and are encouraged to seek guidance and share knowledge that will help facilitate career decision-making and create pathways to achieving professional goals. Whether you're seeking an internship or figuring out your career, you'll get exposure to different industries and jobs and make valuable connections.
The advisers within the Career and Experiential Learning Lab collaborate with students, faculty, staff and external partners to design solutions for career success at every stage.
